An Evening of Poems on the Theme of Superheroes at Superheroes: Icons of Good, Evil & Everything in Between | Friday, October 28 | 7:00 | 516 ARTS | 516 Central Avenue SW | Albuquerque, NM
In conjunction with the exhibition Superheroes: Icons of Good, Evil & Everything in Between, 516 ARTS and the Local Poets Guild present an evening of poems on the theme of superheroes. This event examines the contemporary world by exploring the iconography and personas influenced by those wonderful four-color figures.
At 7:00 on Friday, October 28th at 516 Arts, the winners will read their winning poems and recieve prizes donated by 7000 BC, Cherry Comics and the Guild Cinema. Gary Jackson will perform a feature set during the night to compliment each one of the winners reading their award-winning poem. Other featured poets will be Nore Hickey, Nick DePascal and Bonnie Altamirano.
This event is free to the public to attend. Costumes are encouraged!

All done in Albuquerque — another great 24 Hours Comic Day in New Mexico has successfully concluded.

Accept the challenge — be a part of 24 Hour Comics Day 2011. Join 7000 BC and make a 24-page comic book pages in 24 consecutive hours. No experience or special skills needed — this free creative exercise is open to everyone.
Test your stamina and learn you what you're capable of, along with thousands of artists of all skill levels from around the globe. Albuquerque has consistently been one of the largest gatherings in the world for this international event. See photos from past years here and here.
